Writing is going smoothly so far.

I’m back at Jackson Acres getting into I guess fast four now. Got back on Thursday evening, and now it is Sunday. I haven’t left the property at all since, despite being overdue to appear at the river and get some groceries.

Anyway, the plan was and is to spend my time here doing the overdue writing and editing. I’m finding as usual that I seem to gravitate more toward re-writing from scratch than toward properly “editing,” which is certainly something I’ll need to adjust if I expect to get anything from this endless stash of old drafts.

Anyway, I have started on two overdue long form pieces, and have so far been cosnsistent with the Stephen King goal of 2000 words per day.

The two works in serious progress are a fiction novel about Facebook, and my “kayaking testimony.” The former seems so far like the logical vehicle for my thoughts on the changes to social life over the past two decades. And the latter is just long overdue.

But it’s in progress. It’s happening. Three days of keeping a goal isn’t enough to declare victory of course, but it’s a start.
